This weeks Music Monday
A variety of retro
1. “Lady Marmalade” Labelle which charted in 1974/75 UK #17 and US #1 Singles Charts, & 300 million other charts. It was also covered by All Saints in 1998.
2. “Sound and Vision” by David Bowie from 1977 which was half instrumental reached #3 in UK Charts.
2. “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes from 1966 which reached #3 in UK and US #1 R&B #1 Charts. It was later covered by Phil Collins in 1982/3 he got his version to #1 in UK and #10 US singles Charts.

The Lebelles did “Lady Marmalade” the best and Diana Ross & the Supremes really rocked in their day. I love their version of “You Can’t Hurry Love”. I do remember both of these, but as a young child in the late 60s. However I do not remember David Bowie’s “Sound and Vision”.

I TOTALLY LOVE THE FIRST ONE I had to turn the speakers up for SOULLLLLLLLL TRAIN! Luvin Soul Train too! Let’s dance!!! Here comes Bowie… wow I haven’t heard this one in like forever… Bowie looks a bit heavier here than his ol’ sin attached to bones self. The SURPREMES… you? Hmmmm Well, they were a hit in there day I must say! There was sure some early pics in there too! Thanks for sharing my friend! Take me back to the good ol’ days when I could shake my booty! hahahaha
