CUATSC – See You at the Senior Center
DWI – Driving While Incontinent
FWBB – Friend with Beta Blockers
FWIW – Forgot Where I Was
FYI – Found Your Insulin
GGPBL – Gotta Go, Pacemaker Battery Low
GHA – Got Heartburn Again
HGBM – Had Good Bowel Movement
IMHO – Is My Hearing-Aid On?
LMDO – Laughing My Dentures Out
LOL – Living on Lipitor
OMMR – On My Massage Recliner
OMSG – Oh My! Sorry, Gas
ROFL…CGU – Rolling on the Floor Laughing…Can’t get Up!
TTYL – Talk to You Louder
WAITT – Who Am I Talking To?
WTFA – Wet the Furniture Again
WTP – Where’s the Prunes
WWNO – Walker Wheels Need Oil

Damn, how do you expect these forgetful seniors to remember all that. Oh and BYOT? Where I come from I’ve never been at an event where teeth are supplied. I can see some toothless grampy stepping up to the bar and ordering a pair of pearly whites. What would that be, a corn-on-the-cob fest or something?

I often wonder as to how many of these will make it to print. If I look at the front of my Chamber’s Etymological English Dictionary from 1966, it has an additional list of new words that were added too late to go into the printing of the main body of the dictionary. There is:
ad., short for advertisement
beatnik, a member of the beat generation
cat, jazz addict: a hipster
computer, a machine that calculates automatically
cool cat, one who is making a success of the hipster way of life
disk, a record e.g. for gramophone
sixty-four dollar question, the most difficult question in a quiz
square, one who is devoted to the orthodox in music
