Yet another thing about London I didn’t know. When done well, live plays are just about the best entertainment there is.

I’m jealous of the idea of being in London, but my 3-year-old would be drooling over the idea of seeing Mamma Mia in person. It’s his favorite movie. :)

I caught a 15 minute segment from the Jersey Boys when they performed at that West Live show in Leicester Square not so long ago, and they were amazing. I’m going to have to try and blag myself some tickets…

There is something just a mite disconcerting about the combination of venerable old London streets and modern musicals. Where’s the Shakespeare?

Shakespeare and the like is mainly at The Globe and The Old Vic theatres and are situated in different areas.

Thank you for your interest :-)

Oh thanks for the names, I took picture of some theaters but forgot to write down their names. Theaters are rare here so it’s interesting to find so many of them in London.
Btw, when I first saw Gielgud I thought it was a hair-salon

I went to a play 40 years ago in London. I can’t remember the theater. I found a comprehensive list of London theaters. How can they all survive the downturn? http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/out/ent/theatre_atoz.html
