Blast from the past, and yes I do remember those days 🙂 My post this week is about colouring and colouring books something I definitely was up to back in those days before caller ID and rotary dials.
I remember that phone, party lines and funny phone numbers and designated rings. I had an aunt and uncle that worked for the telephone company when it was still the switch boards, he worked in the field and she at a switch board as an operator.
I guess we are getting old my friend but guess what? We are still alive and great. When we were really young, we weren’t allowed to get the phone when it rang. It wasn’t until we were older that dad said that it was OK for us to check on it. Thank goodness, because when my girlfriend called and called ” Hi sexy “, oh my if my mother had picked it up, my dad. Ha,ha,ha.
Now we all run and see if someone else will answer it or wait for the machine to pick up. But I kind of act like that when my cell phone rings cause it’s new and barely anyone has my number.
I remember those days when it seemed like the phone would never stop ringing at my house! I can still see the counter in the kitchen where the phone would get plunked down as we we shouted for the person that so and so was on the phone!
oh goodness yes!! And we still have a non cordless phone in our house for during emergencies.
heck I remember party lines!!! And I am not even that old – but it’s because I grew up in the country where everyone shared one line, but each had their own ring tone. sadly, Call Me Maybe was not an option back then. 🙂
HA! And you thought I wouldn’t be here! I see how you are now! Hmmmmm Well SURPRISE! BETTER LATE THEN NEVER I ALWAYS SAY MY FRIEND! HAHAHAHA Oh yes, I remember this and the funny thing is… our kitchen outlet hasn’t worked since we moved in, and I just got it fixed, but I needed a phone for it. So, I went to Goodwill and bought me a phone that looked just like this one. LOL You should hear it ring! LMAO It’s so weird. Have a rockin’ ringin’ swingin’ week!
