  10. I tried to tell my students that they already had a computer in their hands. It just didn’t have buttons to play with.

    We lost power for an extended period yesterday. So it was homework with pencil and paper by candlelight.

    Steve, this is a newer model for sure. You can tell by the slender build of the unit. Mine was a chunkier version with the same features: print, delete, refresh and ran on the dontscrewup1.0 operating system. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the chuckles. Have a laughtastic day, my friend.

    The second computer was a typewriter with which if you hit just one wrong key on the last line of the page, you had to type it all over again. Took me 3 days to type a paper for college that would now take 3 hours all because of the typos. Of course computers didn’t come available until I was finished with my Masters. I love your Wed funnies.

    This is still the best kind of computer, too. It can keep right on working through a lightning storm and can go anywhere with you.

    Good one, Steve. I can just barely say this (90s kid here), but I do remember getting our first computer in our home in 96. Pencils seem to be more reliable to this day. : )
